At Odense Port we can handle any task - big or small!

With 8.5 million square meters, Odense Port is Denmark’s largest international commercial port. For more than 60 years, large structure productions have made up Odense Port’s DNA, and the latest decade we have moved up to the European super league among production ports within offshore wind.

We therefore have world-class facilities, equipment and logistics solutions at our disposal – as well as specially trained personnel to operate our cranes, each of which has different strengths.

Our skilled engineering department assists with technical calculations on how to perform complex lifts with the cranes safely – and in the most cost-effective way. Although size matters and we often handle huge things, it’s ultimately the small millimeters and the team effort of our employees that succeed.

The Gantry Crane

Visible far beyond the Odense Port, the gantry crane is our landmark and equipped with unique features. In addition to a lifting capacity of 1,200 tons, the crane has six main hoists spread over four cats, enabling it to handle multiple items at
the same time.

Multiple hoists also allow heavy items to be ‘flipped in the air’ and support very precise control of what is being lifted.

Precision down to the millimeter level is especially beneficial when assembling large structures or handling particularly sensitive items, such as components for the wind turbine industry.

Eberswalde

Eberswalde Crane

The Eberswalde is a travelling crane named after the city of Eberswalde in Germany and has a lifting capacity of 100 tons. The crane is designed to run on rails, which allows it to move precisely and efficiently within the defined work area.

The Eberswalde crane has a very lengthy reach of 68.5 m that makes it very flexible in terms of reaching and serving loads at different locations within its working radius. The crane is powered by hydraulic and electrical systems that provide precise control and movement of the load.
