The pivotal North Seas Ministerial Meeting 2024 was held at Odense Port
The future of offshore wind in the North Sea, as well as jobs and green industry, was at the top of the agenda at the North Seas Ministerial Meeting at Odense Port.
On Thursday, October 24th 2024, European climate and energy ministers, the EU’s energy commissioner, and international leaders from the leading companies in the wind sector gathered for the North Seas Ministerial Meeting at Odense Port.
Here, the participants discussed how the ambitious goals for offshore wind installations in the North Sea can be achieved. This resulted in a set of concrete recommendations, the Odense Recommendations, which were presented to the European Commission.

The recommendations outline a pathway to unlock the North Sea’s potential and develop the European industry, enabling it to best support offshore wind production for the benefit of Europe’s green transition while also creating as many jobs in Europe as possible.
The North Sea Summit took place at Odense Port, which has successfully transformed from a former shipyard into Denmark’s largest offshore wind production port. During the day the participants experienced the port by bus tours, where Odense Port guides explained about the EU CEF Transport approved port project and received material about the project.
