First tenant in the new facilities at Odense Port is ready - even before construction is complete

Hyndla, a consulting engineering company and system supplier for offshore foundations, will be the first tenant in Odense Port's new production and logistics facilities. Hyndla sees significant advantages in being close to its customers and having direct shipping access from the quayside.
Hyndla, a company specializing in offshore wind foundations and offshore wind, has just signed a lease agreement for 2,000 m² in the new building at Odense Port. The agreement was signed before the production and logistics facilities are completed in April 2025.
"The fact that we can have our entire company in one location, close to our customers and a shipping port, is exactly what we have been searching for. I expect we can enhance our work processes by consolidating our operations in one large facility at Odense Port instead of our current three smaller halls. This will enable a leaner and more efficient production, benefiting both us and our customers," says Henrik Stamer, CEO of Hyndla.
High demand for capacity
Odense Port will be ready in May with six new production and logistics halls—totaling 10,000 m²—to meet the growing demand, particularly from the offshore wind industry. Nearly 98% of the port's existing 250,000 m² of buildings are already leased, making capacity expansion essential. Odense Port expects the remaining space in the new halls to be leased during 2025.
"We are experiencing significant growth among companies at the port. Investments in new capacity, such as our upcoming production and logistics halls, are crucial to meet demand in the coming years. We understand the importance of taking bold investment steps and staying ahead of the market. Hyndla signing a lease before construction is completed is a clear example of this," says Carsten Aa, CEO of Odense Port A/S.
Ready for the future
The offshore wind industry is set for a busy future, with the maritime sector at the port also expanding. As wind turbines grow larger, Odense Port plays a key role in enabling heavy and complex offshore wind production. This naturally attracts both major manufacturers and smaller subcontractors who want to be close to each other—and shipping.
"Our collaboration with Odense Port has been excellent. We were invited into the process and asked about our needs and preferences, and Odense Port has been highly accommodating. Moving into a new, larger, and future-proofed facility is a great step forward for us. Fortunately, we are in a growing industry. The demand for our deliveries and services continues to rise, which is why we are preparing for even greater demand for Hyndla’s solutions," says Henrik Stamer.
