For more than 60 years, large productions have made up Odense Port’s DNA, and the latest decade we have moved up to the European super league among production ports within offshore wind. Therefore, it is not without reason that huge substations, nacelles and monopiles are produced at Odense Port - for the American, Asian and European markets . Wind production is, like the nacelle of the wind turbine, central to the port's ecosystem and underpins our entire investment strategy

Production
Installation / Marshalling
As offshore components become ever larger and can only be transported by water, the wind industry has naturally moved closer to the ports. With us, you can streamline your production process, shorten your value chains and thus minimize your costs significantly by both producing and installing at Odense Port. Additionally, we are fully equipped to support the complex logistics involved in the marshalling scope.
R&D
Like an extended (robot) arm from Odense (known as the capital of collaborative robots), the world’s first robot centre for large constructions is being established at the port. Here, the robot centre will develop robots for automation and cost-effective production of wind components. By establishing production at Odense Port, you will thus get a unique neighbor from which you can harvest fresh innovation fruits and the latest technologies to optimize your business.
Facilities
We are an ISPS secured port with unparalleled facilities geared to wind production and installation 24/7 - and with 2,3 million available square meters earmarked for wind, we are ready to carry out your needs. Our customized heavy load plate goes to it, and we have the capacity to annually handle 1.000.000+ tons of steel, which is a prerequisite for the growing production of wind components. How much shall we handle for you?
Cluster
As many as 2,500 people drive the intense activity at the port every day, and over 100 different companies make up the green industry and the wind cluster – most of which are subcontractors the wind industry’s largest manufacturers on site. This means that on the premises, there is a very special ecosystem where your business partners are close at hand, and you can always get hold of a welder or an electrician if an acute situation arises.
Investment program
Since 2008, we have invested massively in facilitating the wind industry’s needs of tomorrow. With our investment program for 2030, we are continuing this course, where more than DKK 7,5 billion has been allocated for port expansions and upgrade of the port's infrastructure, including the fairway. Only in this way, we can maintain our position as Northern Europe's preferred production and installation port that can accommodate the entire palette – from wing to foundation.
