Each year, the Odense Port publishes a range of reports, analyses, and publications highlighting developments at the port, our activities, and the markets we are part of. Here, you can find an overview of our publications and learn more about each individual report.

The Odense Port’s annual report provides a comprehensive overview of the port’s activities and financial results for the past year. The report outlines business developments, key projects, and the most important events of the year.

In the Responsibility Report, Odense Port describes its work with environmental, climate, and responsible business practices. The report provides insight into our efforts to reduce our climate footprint, develop the port in a more sustainable direction, and create value for both businesses and society.

The Odense Port is one of Denmark’s largest commercial ports and serves as a central hub for industry within the green transition, new technologies, logistics and maritime activities.
There are approximately 120 companies at the port, employing around 3,200 people.

Odense Port plays a key role in the development of green energy, particularly within the offshore wind industries.The port serves as a base for production, testing, installation, marshalling and logistics of large components for offshore wind projects.

Odense Port is Denmark’s largest port in terms of area and comprises large industrial zones, terminals and quay facilities.
The port area covers 8.5 million m² and has 250,000 m² of buildings at its disposal for handling very large and heavy components for, among other things, offshore and industrial projects and the maritime sector.

Odense Port is owned by Odense Municipality and is operated as a 100% municipally owned limited company with its own board of directors.
The port works commercially to attract businesses and investment, whilst contributing to regional development and job creation.

Odense Port is home to a wide range of businesses within the industrial, energy, manufacturing, logistics and maritime services sectors.
In particular, companies linked to the offshore and energy sectors are strongly represented, including those involved in the manufacture and handling of large components for the offshore wind industry.
In addition, a number of logistics and transport companies operate from the port, supporting both national and international supply chains.

Lindø Industrial Park was a large industrial estate established on the site of the former Odense Steel Shipyard.
Lindø Industrial Park was acquired by the Port of Odense in 2014 and therefore no longer exists.

Odense Port is a key driver of growth for both Odense and the rest of Funen.
The port creates jobs directly within port-related businesses and indirectly through suppliers, logistics and service companies in the region.

Although the port’s turnover is rising, it has simultaneously managed to reduce its carbon footprint.
The port is constantly working to reduce its environmental footprint and develop more sustainable solutions in collaboration with businesses and partners.
This includes, among other things, the development of green energy projects, the optimisation of logistics and circular material solutions.

The Port of Odense was established in early 1803, when a canal approximately 5 km long was dug from Odense to Odense Fjord to give the town direct access to the sea.
The port has since developed from being a steel shipyard from 1918 on the Odense Canal, and in 1959 the steel shipyard was moved to Munkebo, where the industrial port was established. In 2009, A. P. Møller Maersk decided to close the steel shipyard, following which the Port of Odense acquired the industrial port in 2014.

The Port of Odense is continuously working on expanding port areas, quays and logistics facilities to meet rising demand from industrial and energy projects.
Specifically, the Port of Odense aims to carry out a new port expansion of 1 million m² and establish a new navigation channel from 11 metres to 12.3 metres of water depth and a width of 140 metres.
At times, there may be significant interest from the media in Odense Port and its tenants, which can be a positive development for everyone. However, it is important that both press, media visitors and all companies comply with Odense Port’s current guidelines.
At the port, we have great respect for the fact that it serves as a sanctuary where customers can develop the future in peace and without unwanted attention. These rules are in place to ensure both security and discretion.
